The Catfish Farm has been under serious renovation and cultivation since we purchased it in May.
We are very excited that deer season is here, our first dove and quail hunts are coming up in the next few weeks and duck season is just around the corner.
Here are the prettiest quail woods on the property. Lynn, the wildlife manager on the property, has this area in great shape.
And here is a stand we just thinned and plan to burn this winter to begin bringing it into the same condition.
And another that is half way to home base.
Our plantings are in and starting to pop up for the deer, the feeders are loaded and stand renovations are almost complete.
These peanuts will soon be harvested out of the main dove field.
And corn was just harvested from these.
And the Corn, Japanese and Brown Top Millet, Milo, Barnyard Grasses, Early Successional Growth and Cat Tails in the duck impoundments are looking pretty good. Whether you like open planted impoundments, or hunting Woodies in flooded timber, there's something for everyone.
There are some tried and true flooded timber impoundments with food plots within.
We're looking forward to seeing who inhabits the duck boxes this year.
